    AI literacy is the foundation

Without skills, awareness and trust, even the best AI systems fail. Plan training, run campaigns, and build a culture ready for AI.

AI Sentri is an aid, not an assurance. It helps you structure your thinking, record what you have done and see where the gaps are. It does not make you compliant, and nothing it produces is legal advice or a regulatory opinion. Scores are indicative. Responsibility for compliance stays with your organisation, and decisions with legal consequences should be taken with a qualified adviser.

Questions about AI literacy and adoption

Why does AI literacy matter for compliance?

Article 4 of the EU AI Act places an explicit obligation on providers and deployers to ensure staff dealing with AI systems have sufficient AI literacy. It is one of the earliest obligations to bite and one of the most commonly overlooked, because it sits with HR and L&D rather than with the technical team building the systems.

How do we know what training people actually need?

It varies by role, and treating it uniformly wastes most of the budget. AI Sentri supports literacy planning by department and role, tracks completion, and links it to the systems those people actually use — so a team operating a high-risk system is visibly held to a different standard from one using an internal summarising tool.

What do we do about staff already using AI without permission?

Find it, then decide — banning it usually moves it further out of sight. Shadow AI surveys surface what is genuinely in use, which is nearly always a mix of tools worth sanctioning and a few worth stopping. Recording the sanctioned ones properly is what turns an exposure into an inventory entry.

How do we show the board that adoption is working?

Adoption metrics per system, linked to the value those systems were meant to deliver, and literacy completion tracked against the roles that need it. That combination answers the two questions boards ask — is anyone using this, and do the people using it know what they are doing.
